I Am Not a Guru
Welcome. My name is Jilna. I’m so excited and to be honest, nervous about this venture.
I am a Certified Conscious Parenting Coach and a parent, just like you. I’ve done an immense amount of self-study to understand who I am. I’ve developed a strong capacity to be curious about conflict and pain as well as a thought process that helps me apply inquiry with compassion to thrive amidst life’s challenges.
I’m now inspired to help you understand who it is you are.
Perhaps like many of you, I got here because of various conflicts in my life.
I believed the illusion that ‘A Successful and Self-Expressed Life’ is achieved through obtaining a degree + getting married + sustaining a stable home + having a child + achieving a well-respected salary and career. But even with all of those things, I found myself completely unfulfilled and confused as to why I consistently felt incapable of communicating my needs in my relationships.
The struggle was apparent and always there, quite frankly.
But, the pain became blatantly obvious when I simply couldn’t communicate with my son, leaving him tantruming and feeling unheard and myself ridden with guilt.
This conflict and pain is what began my journey with Dr. Shefali in Conscious Parenting.
Conscious Parenting helped me realize that my unfulfillment came from a distorted view of what it meant to be successful and free. I thought success came from degrees, relationship status, and career achievement. Conscious Parenting showed me that my definition of success was one that I nurtured from culture, and that in order for me to understand the true cause of success and self-expression, I needed to become curious about why I was feeling unfulfilled.
Curiosity is the underlying theme of this program. It is the MOST important concept we will explore in order to understand why we feel so unfulfilled.
Human beings are innately curious, but our curiosity has been clouded and buried under the many layers of cultural conditioning we’ve nurtured from our parents, early care takers, schools, friends, partners, and more.
We are here to explore what that conditioning means and how it affects our communication with our children and others today. This exploration will help us understand ourselves more deeply. In understanding ourselves, we naturally begin to understand our children and others. This understanding will lead to deeper connections and clear communication with everyone.
I’ve opened registrations for my live 3-month Group Coaching Intensive, The Foundations of Conscious Parenting. It is tailored for moms of children between three to eight years old, who are seeking to learn how to hold and set healthy boundaries without second-guessing themselves.
