Choice<\/b> is the most important of the 5 core life lessons and values referenced below that I desire for myself and Jian.<\/span><\/p>\n

Choice:\u00a0 so he remembers that he is in control of his creation and freedom.<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Confidence:\u00a0 so he knows his worth and believes in a force larger than himself.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Courage:\u00a0 so he has the will to be curious in adversity and to own his choices.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Coexist:\u00a0 so he exists in and welcomes diversity and perspectives.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Clarity:\u00a0 so he refines his intellect from moment to moment.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Like me, you\u2019re probably working hard to give your children the best version of yourself.\u00a0 You have a strong desire to do so, but sometimes find yourself exhausted and confused; thinking you\u2019re doing everything you can, but that your reality isn\u2019t aligning with your intentions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Intentions are funny things, you see. Many times, we\u2019ll experience good intentions going wrong.<\/span><\/p>\n

They usually go wrong because we\u2019ve made the wrong choices.<\/span><\/p>\n

I verify my intent by questioning my choices.<\/span><\/p>\n

Does the environment I\u2019ve created support the core values I\u2019m trying to instill in him?<\/span><\/p>\n

Does the way I think support the core values I want to impart to him?<\/span><\/p>\n

Does the way I act and speak support my beliefs around these values?<\/span><\/p>\n

When my choices align with my desires, I\u2019m left with a feeling of tranquility, lightness, expansion, excitement, and liberation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve witnessed the same in Jian.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

In my humble experience, I can honestly say that only when I began to live and honor Choice in our home, did I find true fulfillment and authenticity.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to that, and without fail, every time my choices misaligned with my desires, I was ridden with guilt and shame because I said something or acted in a way that went against an expectation I had of him.<\/span><\/p>\n

For example\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Limiting his screen time, and hiding my phone each time he walks into my room.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Asking him to eat dessert once a week, and then eating chocolate while he\u2019s in school.<\/span><\/p>\n

Preaching about the power of talking calmly, and then walking away if I had to yell or scream.<\/span><\/p>\n

Promising to look for his favorite socks, and then telling him I was really busy at work.<\/span><\/p>\n

(As if he didn\u2019t know the truth.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Each time, choosing words or actions that misalign with my desires and my core values.<\/span><\/p>\n

What choices are you making that align with your core lessons and values, and that are setting you and your child(ren) up to learn the life you most desire?<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n
